This was our very first launch with our rocket, i think it did very good for our first launch
We started off with a couple grams of sodium polyacrylate and some water, The grams of SP was in a cup and then we poured in water slowly and mixed it and it started turning in the a ice like material. It kind of looked like a slushy to me. Our task was to find out how much water can this really suck up or hold. We kept add more and more water then finally it was almost gone. So then we got another cup of more SP and we added milk to it and nothing at all happen, the SP didnt suck up any of the milk at all, it just sunk to the bottom. We then put the SP with the water in a glass pan and then added food coloring wich made it blue. Class was almost over and then i added milk into the pan as you can see on the last picture.
Each table was gave a piece of magnesium, citric acid and we got a flask of h2o. We put the magnesium in another flask and then we mixed the citric acid with the H2O and then we slowly poured it into the flask with the magnesium and it started bubbling and we just sat there and watched it and i picked it up and i noticed it was getting warm. I told the rest of the table and they noticed it also but then we just put it back down and we checked again and its was really hot to the point we couldn't touch the bottom of it.
On this Lab we had a bowl of Corn Starch and then we had a jar of water, I wasn't sure at all what was going to happen but then Andrew said to pour the water into the the bowl and mix! When we first started mixing it was very hard but then it got really soft and slimy and then i put my full hand in. We put some into a balloon and it felt exactly like a stress ball.
This is the rocket! We have had big problems, the first one we made was terrible the top of the rocket would not match at all. I think we used like 5 superglue packets just to TRY to make it work but then we decided to make a new rocket and its a lot better than the first one but its very deformed. We have not launched the rocket yet but we are planning to later today if my partner makes the motors. Most of my 2 week plan is to finish my blog, other than work on my blog I need to finish our rocket we still need to put the little piece of wood on the inside so it can hold the motor from shooting up ti the top of the rocket
